Flying a hired bike internally in Madagascar needed no crate at all.

It was stuffed into the hold of the 737 like a big chicken:



Pre flight preparation:

- remove battery (taken into the plane with my hand luggage).
- drain petrol.
- remove top box.
- remove wing mirrors.



Post flight damage:

- bent gear lever
- smashed indicator lens
- bent mudguard
- petrol filled the cylinder so it was impossible to start until the plug had been removed.

Next flight Prep:

- All the above plus:
- remover rear brake lever
- check petrol tap is turned off.
- unfortunately the gear lever is welded on!
