This is an extraordinary place. It is a beautiful village within the town.

It was opened to the public in 1970. Up until this point four hundred and fifty nuns lived in complete isolation from the town for some four hundred years. Apparently it was only when the Vatican heard that some girls were virtual slaves within it's walls that some one was sent to investigate.

Even though the nuns had taken vows of poverty it is an exquisite and clearly luxurious place.
