The Inca Bridge is simply poles laid across a gap. The poles are removed for protection. You can see the continuation of the path as it transects the vertical rock face.

I was rather glad the path had collapsed as I had gone about as far as I felt comfortable.

Only the previous week a Canadian had died on this path. She was a birdwatcher and was looking through binoculars when she took a step backwards.
