Every one knows you're supposed to travel light.
All that varies is each person's own definition of 'light'.
I read a very funny book ‘It shouldn't happen to a rep’ all about
this guy’s experiences of the Spanish package holiday trade. In one
section he talks of how the British holidaymakers, only away for only one

One family of four, took two large suitcases each.
One was completely full of clothes, enough for a complete change of outfit
three times a day. The other was full of food. Tins of baked beans, soups,
ketchup, brown sauce. Everything you needed to survive abroad.
My definition is ' medium heavy'.
I know I have too much stuff. If I have my cooking stuff I keep wanting to
leave it behind. If I do leave without it I always feel that I need it.

It looks like it requires one of those cranes the knights in shining armour
used to be put on their horse.
Whilst we may share the same jacket and have a flip up helmet I'd like to
make clear it is not me.
