Find a university town, find a big bookshop and find the languages section. Look for English novels. A few days ago in Morelia I found the English section by accident and then had the choice between Sleeping Beauty, Huckleberry Finn or any of the Harry Potter hardbacks.

I Choose Huck.

It worked again today even in the small town of Angangeo (population 5,000) which definitely hasn’t got a university. Their English section had ‘Confessions of a Geisha Girl’ hidden amongst the textbooks.

I also find that five star hotels usually have a good, if expensive, range of books.
